Description
Tor-Bac is a bacteriostatic saline solution used as a mixing diluent in aesthetic and medical procedures. Each 5 ml ampoule contains 0.9% sodium chloride, 0.9% benzyl alcohol (as a preservative), and sterile water for injection. This formulation allows for repeated use of the same vial over several injections (up to its shelf-life once opened), making it useful for diluting toxins (e.g. botulinum toxin), peptides, or other injectable agents in a clean, stable way. Because benzyl alcohol inhibits bacterial growth, Nosocomial contamination risk is lowered compared to non-preserved saline. Tor-Bac is often chosen when a product needs reconstitution or dilution and sterile, preservative-containing saline is preferred. It is a prescription-only, unlicensed solution—use should be guided by a qualified healthcare professional. Storage, handling, and dosing must follow good clinical practice to ensure safety and effectiveness.
