Estring® is a prescription medicine used in the treatment of symptoms caused by postmenopausal vaginal atrophy, such as dryness, itching, or discomfort. It is a small, flexible vaginal ring that continuously releases a low dose of estradiol (a form of oestrogen) directly into the vaginal tissues. By delivering oestrogen locally, Estring helps restore the vaginal lining, increase elasticity, and reduce symptoms without producing high levels of hormone throughout the whole body. Each ring provides consistent relief for up to 90 days, after which it should be replaced if ongoing treatment is required. Estring is easy to insert and remove, and most women find it comfortable to wear once in place.
